Lion King revamped..but what an impressive take!

The story about how Simba (Donald Glover) the lion cub is transformed to be the king, a king greater than his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones). Mufasa was known to be a great ruler who lets all the animals live peacefully in the jungle. He’s a strong believer in the ‘circle of life’. His brother, Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor), on the other side wants to be king and targets his nephew, Simba the heir to the throne. Scar’s wicked plans land Simba and Mufasa in a tragic situation leading to the eventual death of Mufasa. Scar blames Mufasa’s death on little Simba, making him run away from the kingdom feeling guilty.

Simba lands himself in the company of two eccentric best friends. Timon (Billy Eichner), the meerkat and Pumbaa (Seth Rogen), the warthog, both of them are outcasts and welcome Simba the outcast into their team. The scenes that unfold are quite hilarious and create quite a laugh.

The story moves on, showing the downfall of the kingdom under Scar’s reign. Simba meets his childhood friend Nala (Beyoncé Knowles-Carter), and then the change of events and the rise of Simba as the king. His acceptance of the past situations; his fight to reclaim his throne and rightfully performing the duty towards his animal kingdom.

The breathtaking visuals have created a more realistic feel. The spirited fight sequence between Simba and Scar makes you feel as though it’s happening right in front of you. Watch it with your kids if you enjoyed the older one. Watch it, if you are a parent-to-be. Watch it, if you are a bachelor.

Don’t miss it at the theatres, it’s a movie you want to watch on the silver screen. The effects are worth it. If not for anything else go for the stunning animation. I watched the original a hundred times and still loved this one just as much: the story of betrayal and retribution is done in style.

    The Lion King…

What a movie! And what a visual effects! I really loved the movie.. We deeply involved into it and njoyed movie a lot.

When the time of mufasa trying to climb a hill to survive, everyone in theater including me shouted “come on mufasa come on, don’t give up” that much deeply involved into it. And when musafa died and Simba was shouting for his father made everyone in the theater very very emotional. I recommend to watch this in theaters to feel the visual effects…
