I belong to Dhupdhara in the state of Assam and am in the 9th grade. Right now my classes do not leave me with much time. However whenever I am free I keep myself busy with painting and sketching and reading books. Majority of my sketches are about animals. Painting and sketching are self-taught and I have not received any professional training in it. I also enjoy to draw by looking at different pictures and even the environment surrounding me.

African Forest elephants
African Forest elephants were thought to be a subspecies of the African elephant. Did you know that they have straighter tusks and more rounded ears than Savannah elephants? Forest elephants have a craving for salt. Elephants are highly social and intelligent creatures. Did you know the elephants pass on their knowledge to the younger ones? The matriarch of the herd carries the knowledge of the elders and shares all the essential. Elephants powder themselves with mud and sand just after a bathe...that is there way of applying sunscreen. This fascinating animal always attracts me.
