How to love

How to love poem

I was taught how to love…

My grandmother told me once,
To a flower you love,
Let her live on…
For the world to see her beauty
That’s how you love!

My mother proclaimed,
To a someone you love,
Be kind to the heart
For you not know what it endured
That’s how you love!

My aunt caresses me,
To the forest you love
Love is when you give yourself,
For it to grow in and out
That’s how you love!

My sister warned me,
To every soul you love,
Behold the light!
For them to not lose hope in the dark
That’s how you love!

And that’s how you love,
When you let them live,
In the kindness you owe,
Through the light you give!

Though
I was taught how to love,
Never was I taught what love is!
I know not what love is.

I await
For the flowers of my heart to stay untouched…
For the forest, my soul is to grow…
For the light to shine through dark…
To know what love is.
