Eucalyptus Refuge

Eucalyptus poem

From my new home’s window, a humble scene unfolds,
A cluster of Eucalyptus trees, their stories untold.
Counting days they stand, amidst a changing land,
Where once their neighbors thrived, now just barren sand.

Bangaloreans pass by, heedless of their plight,
Garbage tossed without thought, a daily blight.
Weekends bring fire, consuming refuse with ease,
Leaves and branches burn, the trees sigh with unease.

Yet amidst the chaos, some friends they find,
Cows, dogs, pigs, and piglets, creatures of every kind.
Pigeons coo softly, while birds with necks so long,
Bees hum their tunes, a comforting song.

In the quiet of afternoon, they gather ’round,
Piglets playfully frolic, their joy unbound.
Their antics a reminder, amidst the urban sprawl,
That life finds a way, despite it all.

So, in the shade of Eucalyptus tall and strong,
These creatures find solace, where they belong.
A small haven of peace, amidst the city’s fuss,
A reminder that nature’s beauty still surrounds us.
