I am software engineer but my lifestyle is different and does not include parties and pubs. Once when in office I noticed a testing team member during breaks enjoying this game with a lot of fun. Of course I told him to get off the game without realizing that the near future will have me hooked up to this one. J
Ludo sneaked into my mobile:
One day my niece studying in 5th class asked me, “Mamayya (Uncle) will play Ludo”. Surprised, I asked her, “LUDO? How did you know about this game?”, albeit, a foolish question to ask this generation kids. Anyways I installed and started play. My brother cautioned me that she is a sour looser and loosing will end up in crying. I thought this is good chance to make her cry! (We both share a funny relation as a mama-niece.). Game started and I lost. Since I lost I didn’t open the game again for a few months. Then another day my wife bored in a journey asked me to play Ludo. That was the second time.
Addicted:
The corona pandemic ended with working from home. I and my cousin were playing PUBG after office hours. My wife again asked me to join her with Ludo. That was the turning moment. It’s like eating neem leafs continuously until one fine day it’ll be sweeter than sugar cane. I have now been playing for few months!
What’s in it?
As you play the game you keep winning and losing coins. The game does contain ads but ads also give you coins. However if you want to go advertisement free then you can buy. You can also buy coins.
Addiction and Addiction:
One morning while playing Ludo I noticed my opponent’s dice, it had this lovely unique pattern. Curiosity got over me and I googled how to get a “Designer dice”. That is when I came to know that there are multiple themes offered by Ludo. However if you want to unlock them, you have either have to complete some tasks or else you need more coins to purchase the new dice.
Since purchasing was out of question I thought to compete and finish the tasks to achieve the new theme. Many days passed by but I still had not completed all the required tasks. I had played many games and had thus earned 20k coins. Finally, I decided to purchase the new theme using my Ludo coins.
There is no limit for wishes, I think the Ludo king developer strongly believed in this formula. Well they included many colorful themes with lot of tasks. Let me tell you something about this: Each theme has a minimum of 4 tasks (count depends on the theme). Difficulty levels of the tasks, increases depending on the theme you want.
This lock down has helped Ludo king to reach 300+ k users. You won’t believe that at any point of time a minimum of 100k people are playing this game. It is amazing how they handle this kind of traffic!

De-addiction:

Bottom line:
Addictive and full-on time pass game that I thoroughly enjoyed during this lock down period. Once in a while it does give trouble but mostly if you clear cache and the data of the board game, it works fine.
My childhood summer vacation are filled with memories of drawing Ludo on the floor accompanied by almost 10 members around the 4 actual players. It was fun to have running commentary. However, during this corona time online Ludo is safe and has the same nostalgic feeling too!
