Yama and Niyama– moral codes for right living
Kalki avatar- the last avatar of Lord Vishnu (Hindu Mythology)
They all have travelled from far and wide,
to witness a hearing, first of its kind…
For it is a matter of life and death,
Prosecution and Defense- both holding their breath.
The Supreme Judge arrives, it is time,
Awestruck by the aura, the audience, in reverence rise
Yama and Niyama, by the side, the Judge waves at all with a smile.
Man versus The-Rest, declares Yama.
Let us all hear the story of your Karma
The best of the lawyers represents the human kind
The-Rest are led by Niyama, the mastermind.
“My Lord”, steps ahead the lawyer, “It has been over a year,
The whole of animal kingdom has been unfair
Mankind is dying, young n old,
The Virus has us in its fold.
Please be kind to lend us an ear
How long do we have to suffer these creatures so bizarre?
We have had enough of their menace and now seek justice.”
Hearing this, Niyama steps forward springing up in defense,
Citing the unreasonable killings out of greed,
it is the man who has caused too much offense.
The argument goes on back n forth,
each representative proving his worth.
Exasperated, the lawyer turns to the Lord Supreme,
and makes a plea,
“Pray Lord! How long should we wait,
for You to come and save us, as Kalki!”
“Son”, replies the Judge, “I have been around
for more than a few years,
have you failed to recognize me?”
“Where My Lord? The human race
has been waiting to catch a glimpse”.
“Why a glimpse son”, says Lord with a wink
“You have seen me everywhere;
Let me make myself loud and clear
You forgot my message:
‘Break off from the clutches of desire’
One-by-one you consumed my creations with glee
Now it is your turn,
Yes, I am Kalki,
the tiny virus is all that the audience can see
The-Rest invoked me from slumber
And you, my dearest son,
Get ready for an unconditional surrender!”
