Superwoman even during pandemic

superwoman during pandemic

This pandemic has had very conflicting outcomes on our personal lives. While it brought all members of the family back into the home this also led to friction among themselves. Prior to the pandemic most members of the family would rush out of the homes to their respective destinations; be it work, school or college returning back by the end of the day totally drained out. Interactions between the family members were limited to maybe a couple of hours every day or weekend catching up. We would always be craving for some more family time as also time to relax and unwind.

Overnight everything changed with the pandemic attack. Suddenly all of us found ourselves cooped up inside and unable to go out. After the initial excitement and thrill of this new experience, irritation set in. Many families started experiencing discord and domestic abuse started going up. I think the worst hit by this scenario were the women. For most middle class women, going out of their homes to work was an escape from the unending responsibilities and expectations.

A job was like a pressure cooker valve where they got to meet others and live a professional life suited to their education and caliber. However while at home much as you love your family it’s practically a thankless job where there is no end in sight.

The work from home caused by the lock-down had the entire family to now be within the four walls. Children who felt bored during the vacation needed to be kept engaged and their demand for variety in their food to be satiated. With no restaurants or food delivery the onus fell on the mother. Husbands staying at home throughout the day without meeting friends or going out made them grouchy and ill-tempered. Along with dealing with the ill-tempered husband not disrupting the family atmosphere also became the responsibility of the lady of the house. The lady thus found herself having to be handle all this along with her own job. Adding to the misery was the absence of maids who were the saviors for the women.

I think families should now plan and treat the lady in a very special way as she handled all this as best as she could. It’s important to realize even she did not anticipate this but tried really hard for her family. She now deserves a break and her family should empathize and show that they understand and appreciate what she has done for all of them.

Here are few ways you can show that you really care: Treat her to a special day where she is pampered and spoilt. Gift her a small gesture like a card, flowers or a gift to make her feel rejuvenated. Let her have a day to herself where she can put up her feet. Just watch television, read, relax, catch up with friends and laze with everything from bed tea served to her.

After all she is the binding force which keeps the family together. And the blotting paper who soaks in all the negativity and friction. Thus making the home a livable place. So, give her this special day and she will be ready to bounce back with double the energy.

To all the ladies who play a major role to make our houses into home…Cheers to bringing heaven on earth!

The lady is the super worker with patience and large heart. So she is taking all the troubles. She will be appreciated only when she stops taking care of the family…

Thank you for writing such a great article! Keeping the struggles aside during pandemic: women always stand for their selves and their families, they do everything just to keep their families happy. Women should always be respected and give them a feeling that they matter.

Unfortunately, in some societies people are treating women like their slaves!

Ma’am thank you for writing this article and bringing a positive change.

Absolutely True. I have been seeing one such superwoman in my house is my mother who is working continuously to give us good food to clean clothes to clean house. Kudos to all the superwomans in each house and they are going beyond their limits to support other members in the family.

Well written article. This is the situation in every Indian house, there is team work but the lady of the house no doubt puts in the maximum, the maximum without any expectation.

Very well said! Definitely every individual, be it a male or a female needs to be respected and loved for whatever small sacrifices they do in their day to day life’s. And yes, women should be appreciated for playing a spectacular role in every man’s life.

    Great Article…..

I think no one should be locked into a way of living or any kind of conservative perspective regardless of the gender.

We’re strongest when we cheer each other on….

There were many positives too. For once husbands and children realised how difficult it is for the lady of the house to be at the forefront of everything within the house all day long with hardly any breather. There must hardly have been a house anywhere, where she did not have to take on additional responsibilities with no time for herself. Kudos to all these selfless women!

It is very true that life has changed a lot due to covid19 .Life has now become so uncertain. We don’t know when the dark days will end.

It is a very well written article by you.

Yes i completely agree to this. It has turned even the most independent and carefree woman into a 90’s bahu who has to do everything while the men perform a minimalist role.

This article actually portraits everything we actually see inside a house where in today’s time women do have their office jobs, their classes etc to be taken care of ,they do take an extra effort to keep their household work on track and to take care their family. It’s also for male readers who are taking care of themselves and the house and are stuck at some place Missing their family/mom/wife/sisters who actually used to help them with their needs. Nice article ma’am 🤗.

Sudha, perfectly written….and I do agree with your thoughts….house job is really endless and it’s only woman in the house knows that how many hurdles she is going through just to meet the needs of her beloved once. And it’s not for a single day but every day. In return she only expects love…She is a foundation of the family…

Yes totally agree with you. Well articulated.
Three cheers for the super woman who is maintaining the sanity at home while battling with extra work load in the absence of maids in these times. Why one day? Now the family should stand supporting her and give her the “Me Time” she deserves.👍👏👏👌
