School my second home

school my second home poem by Aditi Rao

Vidyaranya is my school, my second home:

The place where I learned to study and to play,

I learned how to ask and answer questions there.

I learned to laugh with the people I respect.

A place where every student smiles at teachers, school workers, and friends alike.

It was here that I learned to speak and learned how to listen.

As a child, I was taught how to learn and how to teach.

Although we lived in a concrete jungle, I attended classes under trees.

In addition to learning a little science, I also learned a few skills.

I learned how to make friends while learning how to calculate fractions.

Where I was taken back in time while keeping the present in focus,

I traveled the world with my feet firmly planted on the ground,

It was only when the last bell rang that I remembered the world around me.

This is where I learned to argue and to agree.

In this school I learned the importance of punctuality,

But I also lost track of time until it was time to go home!

My school, my second home is the happiest place on earth.
