To be a student,
is a difficult plight
it means slaving days,
and sleepless nights!
Pages drenched in tears
and all passions thrown away
why does it always have to
be this way?
Being a topper and being respected
Always feel synonymous
To score anything less than 90%
Seems like a complete failure…
Trying to match standards?
I’d rather flee
It’s like judging a fish
on how it climbs a tree!
Nothing seems heavier than my bag
except maybe my eyes
People say take-it-easy
But they always seem like lies.
They wait to give out criticism
Like blood to a shark
But how will they know
The pain of losing even a single mark?
Education is a competition
we did not agree to enter,
To be put against
and compared with each other.
People see it as a help,
to drive us through the maze
But, to students it will always be
a Horse Race!

It’s true that education has become a competition. Eventhough technology has been playing a great role in this field, the fun and knowledge that we had in our days is not seen these days. Very simple and informative poem. And the drawing also speaks clearly about it.
