Reminiscence

Reminiscence poem by Dikhita

I know I have imperfections:

I do lie sometimes,

Putting up a drama,

Trying to be liked by people around…

I was scared to be lonely;

Until they left me already.

Tagged along loneliness,

Wave of silence fetched me courage…

I drew the curtains down:

Embracing my flaws, my weaknesses,

And it all felt like reality;

Felt like a journey in the mountains

Reminiscence of tears, smiles, sleepless nights;

Freedom of being myself lying alongside…

At this point, I look back at myself

Where I was standing…

It speaks to me,

That I’ve come a long way

Indeed, I am flaw some.
